This engagement shoot couldn’t have fallen on a more perfect day. It was cool and cloudy, I could’ve seriously shot the whole day. Bliss.
Just another WordPress.com site
If this family looks a little familiar it’s only because they were here not too long ago. February 2012 marked their 10 year anniversary and I got a little teary eyed a few times, I must admit. It was one of those ‘she’s gonna cry and then I’m gonna cry and then we’re all gonna cry’ kinda deals. Good thing my camera was hiding me.
I’ve been meaning to put this post back up since it was lost somewhere on the information superhighway. Another reason I wanted to put this post is because it includes a very talented wedding photographer in Austin Elissa R. (check out her website!) and since we swapped a photoshoot I felt I should give credit where credit is due.
I have found that for me, it helps to have a sketch or some sort of visual aide before I take on a photo session. It’s a reference point that I can turn to and it can help me in keeping a consistent theme for a particular shoot.
Early autumn and some Bill Withers playing in my head definitely makes for a “lovely day” for this young couple’s shoot.
Don’t be fooled by the serious pictures, this couple couldn’t keep a straight face which makes my job terribly enjoyable. I remember the words “You look like you’re about to poison me.” and “the venom!”
Happy up coming one year anniversary!
It’s almost starting to feel like fall around here. We’ve gotten a few mornings where we can actually turn off our air conditioning and let the breeze in. “What’s that you say? A breeze?” Why, yes!
Well, it was nice while it lasted. At present it’s muggy. Muggy and full of mos-keeters.
So anyway, my aunt got married…in her 50′s! Woohoo, you go girl! It was a short and sweet kind of deal. Check out the groom’s “gettin’ hitched” belt.
Somewhere, some time ago, I read that around 80% of photographers do not make a living off of their photography. That means that your local freelance photographer may be Joe from down the street whose main source of income is making heart shapes in your morning latte. Say whaaa?
So, for many of us, the typical day is much like yours…
Gotta stay awake. Need coffee. Some. sort of. caffeine pumped beverage.
They met in high school…papa bear and mama bear. How insanely cool is it to marry your high school crush, have babies, and spend your time taking killer photographs to show your friends how awesome you guys are and how they will never ever be as cool as you, ever? These guys are too cool for school, man. Too cool for school. Did I really just say that? Oh, I think I did.
I’m sleepy and a bit delirious.
So papa bear, mama bear, little bear, baby bear and I went to Hermann Park and just had a blast. Enjoy the Palomares family ya’ll.
